The title, ‘Introverted Mom’ grabbed me right away when Jami put out the invite to join the launch team for her new book. I love learning about personality type, and I especially love to hear about how people with my similar personality type function in their daily life. We all like someone we can relate to, possibly someone that makes us feel a little less weird (or is that just me?).

So do you ever feel like who you are collides with motherhood? You know, the noise, the things falling off the rails every which way, the sometimes fast pace, on your toes, in your face parts of motherhood? Well, I do!
‘Introverted Mom’ approaches this very thing: what it means to be both an introvert and a mother. Like most of life, it is a balancing act we have to figure out. When I added the title to my Amazon cart, I was looking to have some “Phew. Okay. Me too.” moments, and I so did! I felt so much relief as I absorbed Jami’s story of what it was like for her to be a mom with an introverted personality.
So many times, I have felt a sense of being ashamed or embarrassed because I do motherhood a little differently than some of the people I have observed. ‘Introverted Mom’ taught me to look past the difficulties of being an introverted mother to pulling from the strengths that we may not even know we have as introverts.
Her openness and honesty about experiences spoke volumes to me. I related to what she had felt and thought in tough moments and even everyday life. I am often afraid to be that raw with my readers because I feel like it doesn’t sound normal, who I am and how I function most of the time and the ups and downs that come with being an introverted parent. You don’t want people to look at you differently. Jami shared anyway and I deeply admire that. This introverted mama needed that!
When we think about being an introvert, it seems habit to look at the downsides of it. Jami helps us see the strengths of being an introvert and even eases some of the guilt of our weaker moments as an overwhelmed introvert. Make sure to snag yourself a copy!
